NORTHWEST 49, WAVERLY 47 (2OT)

It took them two extra periods to do so but at the end of the night, Northwest (10-1, 6-1 SOC II) earned a pivotal league victory over Waverly on Thursday.

The Mohawks were led by Keirah Potts’ 17 points while Haidyn Wamsley added 13 and Valerie Copas added 12. Northwest trailed by six points with 1:28 left to go in the second overtime.

For Waverly (7-3, 3-3 SOC II), Zoiee Smith had 14 points, Paige Carter finished with 11 and Carli Knight added nine.

WHEELERSBURG 70, EASTERN 40

After a non-conference loss at Ironton this past week, the Pirates (9-1, 7-0 SOC II) bounced back with a league win over Eastern.

Wheelersburg was led in scoring by Kaylee Darnell with 22 points while Madison Whittaker and Brittani Wolfenbarker finished with 11 and 10, respectively.

Abby Cochenour led the Eagles (2-9, 0-8 SOC II) with 20 points while Andee Lester had 12.

The Oaks (6-5, 4-3 SOC II) earned a conference win on Thursday with a rout of Valley.

Oak Hill was led in scoring by Peyton Miller with 22 points while Caitlyn Brisker added 14. Brooke Howard also helped out with six points.

For Valley (2-7, 1-6 SOC II), Karsyn Conaway led the way statistically with 13 points.

The Senators (7-5, 3-4 SOC II) won their sixth straight matchup Thursday night, edging a talented South Webster team by a two-point margin.

West was led in scoring by Charlie Jo Howard, who scored 13 points. She was followed by Morgan Rigsby with 12 and Eden Cline with 10.

The Jeeps (5-6, 4-3 SOC II) were led statistically Kenzie Hornikel with 17 points while Bri Claxon added 16. Baylee Cox also hit double-digit scoring figures with 12 points.

The Panthers (2-10, 2-5 SOC I) got back in the win column Thursday with a runaway with over East.

Leading Clay in the winning effort was Kat Cochran with 26 points, followed by Shaley Munion with 14 points. Jaelyn Warnock also helped out, scoring eight points.

For the Tartans (0-11, 0-7 SOC I), Felicia Smith led the way with 14 points.

The Falcons (5-5) earned a non-conference win over Jackson Thursday to even their record.

Leading Minford in scoring was Hannah Tolle with 15 points while Maddie Slusher had 12. Livi Shonkwiler also helped out with 11 points.

For Jackson (1-8), Katelyn Webb had 14 points and Bronwyn Nelson added 10.

The Shermans (8-2) bounced back from a two-game skid with a seven-point win over McClain on Thursday.

Emily Coleman spearheaded the victory with 21 points while Avery Miller added 13 of her own.

For the Tigers (6-5), Emma Stegbauer had 16 points while Payton Pryor finished with nine.

Eastern Brown traveled to Adena on Thursday and earned a 13-point win.

Adena (8-3) was led by Jadyn Smith’s 22 points and five rebounds while Hannah Stark added six points and four assists. Chey Ater also helped out, scoring five points and grabbing 10 boards.
