Tanedo-coached SOVC club team wins Ohio Valley Region volleyball title

COLUMBUS — The Southern Ohio Volleyball Club’s 16-year-old team won the Ohio Valley Region Club Volleyball gold championship this past Sunday at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

During the season, the team finished with a 32-0 match record and a 64-1 set record. In the finals, the group defeated Xplosion VBC, sweeping the match 25-17 and 25-14.

The team’s roster, which is coached by Southeastern assistant coach Paul Tanedo, consists of many known area names including Minford’s Allyson Coriell, Chillicothe’s Katie Conner, Zane Trace’s Hannah Hale, Alli Bennett, and Laynee Hill, Adena’s Olivia Riley, Abbi Putnam and Ari DaRif, and Wheelersburg’s Kylee Barney.
