SOSA Staff Report

ATHENS — Morgan Geno continues to etch her name in stone at Ohio University.

The Zane Trace alum and current Bobcat first baseman began her senior softball season on a tear and hasn’t let up since. Currently, Geno is hitting .381 alongside team-highs of 12 home runs and 47 RBIs. Her .504 on-base percentage also leads the a team that currently sits at 22-10 overall.

Tuesday night, in a 3-1 victory over Northern Kentucky, Geno made sure her name would be in OU’s record books for some time to come. With a two-run bomb, she broke the program’s career RBI record at 139.

Geno’s 139 RBIs breaks Lauren Gellerman’s previous record of 137, which was set in 2013.

Before the season started, SOSA talked to Geno about her upcoming senior season.

“I hope that I’ve inspired little girls out there that want to reach their dreams. I’m from a small town like Kinnikinnick and I’m a Division I athlete playing at the highest level,” she said at the time. “They can do the same. College has treated me well.”

College continues to treat Morgan Geno well.
